How do I set up my Telstra Mail® on Outlook 2021?

You’ll need your Telstra email address and password.

To add your Telstra email address to Outlook:
1. Open Microsoft Outlook 2021
2. Go to the Info tab and select Account Settings
3. To create a new email setup, select New
4. Select ‘Manual setup or additional server types’ and then select Next
5. Select IMAP and then select Next
• In User information enter your name and Telstra email address
• In Log on information enter your Telstra email address and password
• Untick the box ‘Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)’

6. Update the server information:
• In Account type enter: IMAP
• In Incoming mail server (IMAP) enter: imap.telstra.com
• In Outgoing mail server (SMTP) enter: smtp.telstra.com
• In Mail to keep offline enter: User defined (all by default)

7. Select More Settings
8. Select Outgoing Server tab
• Tick the box ‘My outgoing server SMTP requires authentication’
• Make sure that ‘Use same settings as my incoming mail server’ is selected

9. Select Advanced and under Server Port Numbers:
• For Incoming server (IMAP) enter: 993
• For ‘Use the following type of encrypted connection’ choose SSL in the drop down box
• For Outgoing server (SMTP) enter: 465
• For ‘Use the following type of encrypted connection’ choose SSL in the drop down box

10. Select OK and then Next.
11. Microsoft Outlook will test your email settings. Once it’s done, select Close.
12. Select Finish. Your Telstra email address should now be added.
